All Hands On Deck! This important XC Work Party sets up the Nordic Shelter and the XC trails for winter.

A big weekend work party ahead. Take part in a Master Class in transforming a work site into the Nordic Shelter that we all expect and appreciate!

Winding Up For Winter - XC Work Party #5 - May 17-18

May XC Work Party #5 – Saturday 17/Sunday 18 & maybe an extra day or two.

All Hands On Deck! This important XC Work Party sets up the Nordic Shelter and the XC trails for winter. Weekend jobs include:

·       Transforming the Nordic Shelter from a work site into the welcoming winter Shelter that the XC community knows and is appreciative of.

·       Completing the last sections of the 2025 summer Bridge Program.

·       Placing and covering the water-mitigation half-pipes on wet sections of the trails.

·       Installing the covers on the water-mitigation bridges.

·       Strategic rock removal on the trails

·       Slashing and other trail work

·       More

If you can attend all or part of the 17-18 May Weekend Work Party #5 and/or the extra weekdays, contact Peter Ward ( nswxc1@gmail.com ). Bring gum boots, work boots, work gloves, PPE, work clothes for any weather, march fly defence, lunch and snacks. The hot water urn, sandwich press, microwave, coffee and tea are available at the Shelter.

Accommodation for the Work Party is donated by Canberra Alpine Club in Perisher. If you require accommodation, please contact Peter Cunningham ( peter.petercunningham@gmail.com ). Bring bed linen, towels and food/drink for meals – the shared dinner on Saturday night is always an interesting social occasion.

This is the last scheduled 2025 XC Work Party. An additional Work Party may be held in June, if required.
