AGM/ Workshop and May Work Party Reminder

AGM/ Workshop - 28th of April

It is not too late to register your interest to come along to PXC AGM and the Workshop. This is being held next Sunday the 28th of April starting at 8.45 am and finishing after lunch and no later than 2 pm.

In the interest of getting more ACT people along, this year the AGM/ Workshop is being held at the Bronze Conference Room at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Bruce, Canberra

PXC is all about promoting Cross Country Skiing and improving the infrastructure/ facilities that we have at the Perisher XC Centre. With the end game being to get more people participating at all levels within the activity and the sport of XC skiing.

PXC has achieved many good things since its inception in November of 2012 but it needs more people to get involved so that it can continue to achieve greater things into the future. So if you are interested in finding out more, please feel free to come along on the 28th of April.

To find out more please email or call Wayne Pethybridge on info@perisherxcountry.org   or 0431 285 566 . Accurate directions to the meeting location can be given.

PXC will supply coffee / tea and lunch on the day.

After the usual short AGM there will be plenty of time to talk about a number of key initiatives that PXC are involved in and to get feed back from those who are present.

Finally, for those who are interested and available to go out for dinner on the Saturday night, register your interest with Wayne Pethybridge. Depending on numbers and preferred locations and cuisine, we can decide closer to the date on where to go.

Final Snippet

Recently PXC has been made aware of a lovely piece of historical footage about the late Ross Martin. It shows Ross in full training for the 1968 Grenoble Olympics. At the Perisher XC Centre we have a trail specially named after Ross, e.g. Ross's Link. Ross was instrumental in helping to get the KAC Classic started back in 1972 and was a huge supporter of XC skiing and to his fellow skier.

Thanks must go to Tony Morrissey of the Cooma Ski Club for finding the following gem . Click on the following to view - https://www.nfsa.gov.au/collection/curated/run-ross-martin
