Perisher XC Work Party #2 – February 7/8

The November Perisher XC Work Party successfully concluded the 2025 winter by rolling up and storing the water mitigation half pipes and covers, ready to re-install before next winter. This was in spite of rain, hail AND shine!

XC Work Party #2 is scheduled for serious trail work repairing and replacing trail markers and poles, fence repair and the usual trail maintenance jobs. Other jobs will include upgrading the event flags and Nordic Shelter maintenance.

Come for one day or two, or even part of a day. Stay the night (thank you CAC Perisher!).

If you can attend all or part of the 7/8 February Work Party #2, contact Peter Ward (nswxc1@gmail.com). Bring gum boots, work gloves, PPE, work clothes for any weather, lunch and snacks, crockery and cutlery. The hot water urn, sandwich press, microwave, coffee and tea are available at the Shelter.

Overnight accommodation in Perisher is available for all XC Work Partiers, generously provided by Canberra Alpine Club. If you require accommodation on Friday and/or Saturday night, please contact Peter Cunningham (peter.petercunningham@gmail.com). Bring bed linen, towels and food/drink for meals –Saturday night dinner is always an interesting social occasion!

Perisher XC Feedback 2025

Please cast your mind back to the 2025 winter season, or your experiences from previous winters, and take a few moments to provide us with feedback by completing a short questionnaire. This questionnaire is designed to help us improve what we do, particularly by generating new ideas around our social media efforts. Social media is one of the most important tools we have to grow cross-country skiing at Perisher and beyond.

To take part in this Questionnaire please Click Here - https://forms.gle/zaaaJt8EvyknsgvN6

The information gathered from this Questionnaire will help with planning for the 2026 winter.

Social Media Workshop

This information will also be extremely valuable in the lead-up to our Social Media Workshop, which will be held on Saturday, 14 February, in Jindabyne. The workshop will run from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm and will be delivered with the assistance of Fiona Latham-Cannon, Jindabyne’s local social media expert.

The workshop is open to anyone who would like to learn more about social media and explore how it can help us at Perisher XC to improve our communications, strengthen our presence, and ultimately grow cross-country skiing at the Perisher XC Centre and beyond.

To find out more about the Social Media Workshop, please email Peter Cunningham or Wayne Pethybridge at info@perisherxcountry.org. Wayne will be overseas until shortly before the workshop, so if you would prefer to speak directly with Peter, he can be contacted on 0477 356 835.
