Let The Games Begin - Winter 2021

Hi all,

2021 winter started strong and early and we are now waiting for it to kick on to being (hopefully) a great ski season.

There is plenty to report on in this Newsletter - click thru to the Newsletter link at the bottom of this page to view important information about access to the Nordic Shelter with respect to COVID-19, 2021 winter events and other topics.

BREAKING NEWS - you now have a chance to win two new prizes at the End of XC Week Presentations, adding to the huge booty of prizes that have already been put aside. It is early days so don't ask what the prizes will be, all that is certain is that they will be worth winning.

New Competition 1 - Send your best images of life up at the Perisher X-C Centre, e.g. people, events, in or around the Nordic Shelter, out on the trails, as long as it is up there somewhere. Between Robert Eddy and Wayne Pethybridge, the best of the photos will be posted on the Perisher XC Instagram and come the End of XC Ski Week Presentation, the winner will be announced. Please send your photos to wpethybridge@fastmail.fm

New Competition 2 -  You will have seen the newly displayed Cams on the PXC Home page while checking the daily snow conditions. During XC Ski Week, the group/ individual that features in the best shot as captured by either the WILDCAM or the SNOWCAM will get a prize. There are plenty of opportunities as the cameras refresh every ten minutes - so go nuts!

Both prizes will be judged by a secret committee according to unpublished criteria but likely to include beauty, sports excellence, fun and wackiness. It will be assumed that the photographers of all photos gathered will be thrilled to be published.
