AND THE NEWS !! (PLAY CLOSE ATTENTION HERE......)

2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the KAC CROSS COUNTRY CLASSIC. The Club would love to see lots of old and new racers to help celebrate this amazing milestone.

KAC CCC race organisers have decided to break with tradition and run their historic event on MONDAY 8TH AUGUST 2022. The equally traditional KAC CHARLOTTE PASS OPEN and NORDIC SHELTER TWILIGHT RELAYS FUNDRAISER will move to WEDNESDAY 10 AUGUST 2022.

If you can’t attend then entire XC Week (August 6-14), then at least plan for a long weekend of XC immersion that will include:

·  Sat   6/8/22        PXC Cup

·  Sun  7/8/22       Boonoona Open

·  Mon 8/8/22       KAC Cross Country Classic

For those who can stay for the week, all of the usual activities (including the ones above) will be on offer – 2 x Coffee Tours, the Sundeck Cup, the Snow Mountains Classic and Ski Orienteering Championships.

Click here for latest draft of the 2022 Aust XC Race Calendar with details of each event. This can be found on the very informative PXC website under the EVENTS drop-down menu and any further changes will be posted there.

Event entry and other information will be posted on PXC as it becomes available.

Fingers crossed for a fun and a COVID-ly uneventful winter!

AUS XC TEAM ANNOUNCED FOR WORLD JUNIOR & U23 CHAMPIONSHIPS
CAN YOU HELP?

Two of our youngest ever XC Winter Olympians have just joined 7 other Aussies in Norway to contest the World Junior and Under 23 XC Ski Champs this week, and they could really use some help with funding their campaign. You will have seen most of these young athletes training and racing on the Perisher XC Trails and their Russian-born world class coach Alexei Sotskov is based in Jindabyne/Perisher. The Team announcement is at: News - Snow Australia

Imagine if each of us gave just $10....or $?...

XC WORK PARTY REPORT – Weekend 5th & 6th and 7th – 9th of February.

The first weekend work party of the year was very productive and more steel bridge building was done during the following week.

After completion of a full audit of the trails, work was done on the Paddy’s Link, the 7.5 km, Porcupine Link and Track. In total over 20 wooden posts need to be replaced amongst other maintenance and improvements that are planned for the upcoming XC work party season. Important projects have also been started at the Nordic Shelter. Plenty is planned to be done in the remaining work parties before winter 2022 – all help is welcomed.

On Saturday late afternoon/evening, the usual after-work party social get-together was held down at the CAC Jindabyne lodge.
