Perisher XC Work Party #4 – April 18/19, 2026

APRIL – PERISHER XC NEWS: WORK & PLAY

The March Perisher XC Work Party concentrated on trail and Nordic Shelter maintenance and rock removal. XC Work Party #4 will be more of the same.

Come for one day or two, or even part of a day. Stay the night (thank you CAC Perisher!).

If you can attend all or part of the April Work Party, contact Peter Ward (nswxc1@gmail.com). Bring work boots, work gloves, PPE, work clothes for any weather, lunch and snacks, crockery and cutlery. The hot water urn, sandwich press, microwave, coffee and tea are available at the Shelter.

Overnight accommodation in Perisher is available for all XC Work Partiers, generously provided by Canberra Alpine Club. If you require accommodation on Friday and/or Saturday night, please contact Peter Cunningham (peter.petercunningham@gmail.com). Bring bed linen, towels and food/drink for meals –Saturday night dinner is always an interesting social occasion!

2026 Australian Rollerski Championships – 11-12 April at Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre – 9:30am Starts

Participate or cheer the racers on! This is the first major event on the new Rollerski Tracks.

Freestyle Sprint - Saturday 11 April– Registration online (until Thursday 11:59pm) or on the day.

Freestyle Distance - Sunday 12 April – Registration online (until Thursday 11:59pm) or on the day.

The new Rollerski Loops and Oval at Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre.

2026 AUSXC Awards Evening – Saturday 11 April, 5:30pm

Join athletes, coaches, officials, families, supporters and general ski enthusiasts in Jindabyne to celebrate the achievements and efforts of 2025/2026.

Awards include Cross Country Skier of the Year and Junior Skier of the Year as well as awards for Masters, Coaches, Volunteers and more.

· When - 11 April 2026, 17:30-19:00

· Tickets - Adults/Juniors $15 and U10 Free

· BYO drinks, Finger food provided.
