Perisher X Country (PXC) is all about promoting the activity of Cross Country Skiing so that one of the best-kept secrets around is not a secret anymore. Please encourage everyone to go to the PXC website (Contact Us page) and subscribe to PXC NEWS, PXC EDGE and daily XC Trail Reports during winter. PXC News is focused on the activities of volunteers and those who have a keen interest in helping grow the sport of XC skiing. PXC is a sub-committee of the northern division of Snow Australia and aims to grow participation in XC skiing in Perisher Valley and beyond.

GOOD NEWS - AND EVENT NEWS.........

It has snowed! A lot! Luke the Groomer packed the new snow as it fell and is out there again tonight. After such an incredibly slow start, maybe winter is really doing it now.  If you are subscribed to the daily Perisher XC Centre Trails and Conditions Report (https://www.perisherxcountry.org/contact-us/), Geraldine and Arnold will keep you up to date with the grooming on the XC trails.

The Event News is that the events scheduled for the coming weekend, including any National and State events (see the attached Snow Australia Notice) and through the end of July have been cancelled. August events will be considered towards the end of July, but many August events have already been cancelled, including the KAC, the Charlotte Pass Open, the Boonoona Open, the Ski-O Champs, the Kosci Tour, the Sundeck Cup, The Night Relays, Regional and State Interschools. At this time, it is considered unlikely that any events will be run in August. You will, of course, be informed if circumstances change.  As the Nordic Shelter is closed for the foreseeable future (https://www.perisherxcountry.org/news/latest/), except for the toilets, it is not possible to ensure that events can be run safely, especially in the current COVID environment.

We miss the comforts and convenience of the Shelter, but if snow conditions permit there will be the usual grooming and skiing, regardless of the many ways that COVID has complicated our winter.

So come to the Perisher XC Centre prepared to be self-sufficient and enjoy your skiing just for the pleasure of it.
