The question has been asked - has there been a sighting of a Flame Robin? The answer is yes, several weeks ago, when we were ”incommunicado” with daily grooming reports paused. For those questioning why the talk about Flame Robins - the first sighting of a Flame Robin each season around the XC Trails is an indicator that Spring has arrived.

Current Conditions at the Nordic Shelter:

Current Temperature: (c) -0.9 Overnight Low: (c) -2.4
Visibility: Good Wind: SSW 17km/h with gusts to 28km/h
Cloud Cover: 3/8 Weather: At the Nordic Shelter: A day to get out and make the most of the recent snowfalls.
BOM: Partly cloudy. Winds southwesterly 30 to 40 km/h increasing to 35 to 50 km/h before dawn then turning west to northwesterly 20 to 25 km/h in the evening. Maximum of +7, minimum of -3.
Snow Cover: Ungroomed snow on the XC trails. Cover is whole and good for touring, but be aware of opening water courses. Light thin crust early on.
