Snowy Mountains Nordic
Snowy Mountains Nordic (SMN) are a locally based (Monaro and Snowy Mountains) cross country ski group that welcomes Snowy Mountains' residents of all ages, skill levels and abilities. Their aim is to encourage a fun and social environment for both families and individuals, including a Jindy Junior development program for local juniors wishing to have fun, improve and get hooked on cross country skiing.

The SMN Jindy Junior Program runs weekly sessions on roller skis in Jindabyne during school terms when there is no snow and twice weekly sessions on snow once enough snow has settled. These sessions currently provide free coaching by experienced coaches and athletes. The sessions are fun, supportive and skill focussed.

SMN are also active on an event and social front running a few social events each year including a Christmas On the snow potluck dinner and night ski.

SMN run a couple of events, the SMN Roller Ski Challenge to kick off the official ski season and the SMN Family Cup to close the season out. The SMN Roller Ski Challenge is a fun way for all to start the season with three fun events on the one day… and if there’s enough snow to ski it changes to SMN Challenge on skis.

The SMN Family Cup involves everything from eating to fancy dress and of course skiing through an obstacle course. You participate as part of a two-person team (family or friends) this event is open to everyone and is not to be missed.
