The inaugural NSWXC Currarong live-in training camp was held on the weekend of 25 and 26 February. Nine athletes aged 11 to 15 swapped skis for boogie boards, kayaks, rollerskis and an adventure run around the NSW south coast hamlet of Currarong.

Day 1 was held in glorious sunshine. After an early morning strength and conditioning session, the locals of Currrong were entertained by the spectacle of athletes in Hi-Vis on rollerskis taking over the quiet streets of Currarong.  The afternoon sessions saw the athletes hit the beach with boogie boards before taking to kayaks on the Currarong Creek.

Day 2 saw us faced with torrential rain. Undeterred the athletes headed out for an extended adventure run to Honeysuckle and a fully clothed swim (why not, everyone was already drenched) before finishing with hot showers and a hot lunch.

Many thanks to the organisers and coaches for providing summer training with a difference for our young XC athletes. Especially thanks to Ned for sharing her holiday home and making the weekend possible and to Anne for the truckloads of the best kind of food - home made!

A full schedule of summer training is being provided in Sydney and Jindabyne by NSWXC. Please check the News articles on Team App (https://nswxc.teamapp.com/articles) for information and updates.
