Something New – and Free!!

If you are one of our tech-savy Perisher XC event participants who enters on-line, you will notice a big difference this year.  Thanks to Cathy from NSW Interschools, a large number of the XC events and activities that take place at the Perisher XC Centre can now be entered via the Ski and Snowboard Aust (SSA) website:

·      Go through the PXC website to the Local Calendar (www.perisherxcountry.org/events/local/) – you can also peruse the wide range of XC information on the PXC site from there.

·      Or you can go directly to the SSA events page (www.skiandsnowboard.org.au/events/upcoming/&pg=1), SEARCH for Cross Country and register for your desired events there.

One point of difference that you will find – you will first register for your SnowID #. Some of you may have a number from previous years, but not be aware of it. You will be able to check. SSA has provided this explanation of SnowID, with useful links, for you: 

Please note that you must have at a minimum an SSA SnowID in order to register. If you do not have a SnowID or are unsure if you have a SnowID, please visit Snowracer.  It is free to register for a Snowracer membership and obtain a SnowID.  All enquiries regarding SnowID, please refer to Ski & Snowboard Australia at info@skiandsnowboard.org.au

By obtaining a SnowID your personal information will be auto-filled into the event registration. Once you have obtained a SnowID, you will be sent a Username via email.  This username will be asked when you click on “REGISTER” above.  Once you have logged into the SSA website complete the Additional Information required.

All those with a current SnowID, be it through Snowracer, Interschools or your SSA membership are provided with FREE insurance cover while competing in Australia. This insurance is for non-medical expenses to the value of $500 and covers items such as refunds for your entry fee and lift tickets, lost accommodation or car repatriation. More details regarding the Snowracer policy is available here. 

So, please register on-line. Good information is provided and it is a great assistance to the volunteers who organize the events.
