As the state body for cross-country skiing affiliated with Snow Australia, NSWACT XC has hit the ground running for winter 2022 after a huge summer running dryland training programs for juniors and masters in Jindabyne, Canberra, and Sydney.  With NSWACT XC Head Coach Alexei Sotskov at the helm, training programs have been offered face-to-face and with remote options for athletes of all levels and ages. They have taken in a vast array of training techniques including roller skiing, hillbounding, hiking, mountain biking, strength training and ski walking.

A number of new families have been welcomed and nurtured and a group of masters have enjoyed finding some fitness and developing  technique under the expert coaching of Alexei. NSWACT XC also ran, with support of Snowy Mountains Nordic coach Tim Greville and team, a very successful Come&Try roller skiing event in Jindabyne.  As the snow fell early, NSWACT XC adapted its end of term programs and moved onto the snow.

XC programs are offered for juniors, state and national team members and Masters and have been taken up enthusiastically. The NSWACT XC Winter program offering is probably the most extensive ever with many options available via the Stack Team App Store. Alexei says he has been delighted with the range of athletes he is now getting to work with and very impressed at the team bonding and support he is seeing between all the age groups and capabilities.
