Lots of First Aid Around the Nordic Shelter.

Last year the NSW Government provided a defibrillator for the Nordic Shelter (and many other sporting organisations). It was a great initiative that is much appreciated by the XC community at the Perisher XC Centre.

This week NPWS sponsored a first aid course for eight XC volunteers who are regularly on the trails, skiing in winter and maintaining them in the summer.  This was a timely opportunity to ensure that there will almost always be someone around the Shelter with first aid experience.

Many thanks also to the course presenters.  Evidently Kylie (Apply First Aid Eden Monaro) has a unique approach to presentation that had trainees in stitches (not literally).

The volunteers who look after the XC trails in partnership with NPWS, and who manage and maintain the Nordic Shelter, are grateful to NPWS for their support.  The first aid course for XC volunteers is a great example of support that has value throughout the community.
