2026 NSWACT XC - Building Up For Winter

As a long-standing part of the Snow Australia Athlete Pathway, NSWACT XC is excited to share what’s coming up in the months ahead—no matter where you are!

We’re also looking forward to welcoming AUS XC Head Coach Alexei back home soon! Following the recent record-breaking successes of the AUS XC Team overseas, Alexei is eager to work with NSWACT’s Junior and Master skiers, alongside the National XC Team, helping to develop the next generation of enthusiastic and skilled XC athletes.

2026 NSWACT XC Autumn Dryland Training
Winter is approaching and NSWACT XC is welcoming athletes back to Dryland Training in Sydney, Canberra and Jindabyne. Dyland training is designed to suit developing and competitive athletes alike and will focus on fun, foundational skills, agility, performance and confidence.

When: Sundays, 7:45 – 9:30am

SYDNEY
Location: Newington Armory
When: Sundays, 6:45 – 8:30am
Coach: Vince De Souza

JINDABYNE
Location: Sport & Recreation Running Track only until further notice.
Tuesday & Thursday: 4:35 – 6:00pm (don’t arrive before 4:30)
Running Track open for NSWACT XC training and practice. Some experienced athletes or coaches may attend, however these sessions are not formally coached.

Saturday: 9:00 – 10:30am

Important: All users of the Sport and Rec track and other facilities require a Facilities Pass.

2026 AUSXC Awards

Join athletes, coaches, officials, families, supporters and general ski enthusiasts in Jindabyne on Saturday 11 April to celebrate the achievements and efforts of 2025/2026.

Awards include Cross Country Skier of the Year and Junior Skier of the Year as well as awards for Masters, Coaches, Volunteers and more.

Where - Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre Conference Centre

When - 11 April 2026, 17:30-19:00

Tickets - Adults/Juniors $15 and U10 Free

BYO drinks, Finger food provided.

Jindabyne June Long Weekend NSWACT XC Training Camp

NSWACT XC will again run a live-in dryland training camp in Jindabyne on 6-8 June for athletes (12-17 years of age). Daily live-out participation by all junior ages is also invited.

The camp provides a great opportunity for athletes to work with coaches to improve fitness and technique prior to commencing training on snow. Athletes will also have the opportunity to undertake fitness benchmark testing to identify strengths and weakness to work on over the winter.

NSWACT XC athletes look forward to this annual chance to catch up with their ski-mates at the start of winter. Further information and registration will be available on NSWACT XC Team App in the coming weeks.

2026 NSWACT XC Winter Program

Winter is quickly approaching and plans are being finalised for training at the Perisher Cross Country ski trails. Training options will be available for junior and adult athletes.

NSWACT XC programs are an integral part of the Snow Australia Athlete Pathway. Coaching is directed by Snow Australia XC Head Coach, Alexei Sotskov. He will be assisted over the winter by dedicated, experienced coaches.

Over the coming weeks NSWACT XC will release details for the season including an immersive school holiday program, weekday/weekend programs and the traditional end of season camp at Charlotte Pass.

The full list of available cross country skiing events is available now and includes events for everyone. Key events in Perisher for this year include:
