Another bluebird day but again the trails we have managed to groom stayed in good condition throughout the day and we can expect similar for tomorrow. We have asked for a light groom of the Sprint Loop, Valley Trail, reverse Cloverleaf, Coaches Link, the outward leg of the 2.5km and the 3.5km tonight so we hope that will help refresh those trails for your enjoyment in the glorious weather.
If there is time we have also asked for them to explore down the 7.5km in the forward direction and see how far they can get with good cover, that hopefully provides an option for a mystery tour in the morning - if they haven't managed to complete the lap then it might have to be an out and back trip but gives further options in these restricted conditions and with no snow in the forecast for days to come we need to make the most of what we have.
As with today early skiers should expect fast hard surfaces which will likely last well into the afternoon before the higher temperatures and sunshine soften conditions.
The 5km and 7.5km were packed last weekend and have good stretches of snow cover but still with gaps of vegetation and we have had reports from people who have been round these as well at the 10km that there is good cover in most places - Touring Skis remain a good choice if you were to venture out that way. As ever we are making the most of what we have got but there is vegetation, rocks and water at points on all the trails so please ski with caution.
Tomorrow morning we have the NSW Distance Championships which will be making use of the 3.5km so please keep an eye open and give those competing space if you are out on those trails. Thank you for those who volunteered and helped with todays championship it really was evidence of many hands making light work so please make yourself known if you can spare some time in the morning to help organise the race or the many other jobs that need to be done for a successful weekend at the shelter.
