The Perisher XC Centre Trails and Conditions Report
Thu, Aug 13th, 2026 8:20 pm

Thursday evening report.

After a slight freeze over night, the trails softened early, allowing Arnie to put the Ginzu over sections of the 3.5km to improve the surface for skating. Others reported the 7.5km to still be in great condition.

Tonight's request is for the Sprint loop, 3.5km and 7.5km trails to be groomed where ever possible. Some sections cannot be improved so be aware of bare ground which will need to be walked, but these are not too long and well worth negotiating for the excellent snow still to be enjoyed.

A special event coming up.

Wednesday 19th August is programmed for the State Interschool XC ski Championships. This event will attract hundreds of students with the final venue to be decided based on available snow. On Monday 17th, before this event, Zac Zaharias, Director of "Peak Learning" who is a National XC team sponsor, will be hosting a “Meet the Athletes” session at Corrobboree lodge from 4.30 – 5.30 PM. Snacks will be provided with drinks to be purchased by participants. This open invitation provides an opportunity for interschool’s participants and parents to meet the National XC athletes and to hear some of their experiences. It also provides a forum for the athletes to be acknowledged and recognised for their efforts.
