The Perisher XC Centre Trails and Conditions Report
Tue, Jul 1st, 2025 6:00 am

The sunny day forecast was not as sunny as expected which was a bonus because the snow quality remained very high yesterday.

A special shout out today for a very courageous athlete, Lauren Parker who has decided she wants to master her skiing skills but with a difference. Lauren used to compete as a tri -athlete but after an accident can no longer do so. Lauren is learning to sit -ski which involves being strapped in a little capsule with skis underneath and using only the strength of her arms to push on the ski poles. On the downhills, Lauren has to master staying in the tracks and leaning into the turns. Despite lots of roll overs, she comes up smiling. Lauren is supported by Disabled Wintersport Australia (DWA ) as a Para Nordic athlete. All the best Lauren, from the Perisher Cross Country skiing community.

Get ready for the 63rd Junior Paddy Pallin event on Saturday 5th July. It is a low key fun event for kids on skis. It is free to enter. Entries on the day from 9:00am to 10:30am.

Also  happening this coming weekend is the come and try day. A great time for all newcomers to XC skiing. Register online.

Another light groom for today. Valley trail, 2.5, 3.5, 5 and 7.5km. Track setting on the sprint loop and valley trail.
