CLASSIC TECHNIQUE

You are on skis that allow you to grip uphill and slide downhill while maintaining control to turn and stop because of the design of the ski and boots. A snow-grooming machine cuts two grooves in the snow, allowing your skis to glide in a straight line on the trails. Forward motion is gained by using a diagonal striding motion not unlike shuffling in socks over a polished floor. Pushing with a pole in each hand helps maintain the momentum.

Classic skiing is the oldest form of transport on snow but has also developed into a modern Olympic sport. Classic skiing can be enjoyed by skiers from beginners to the elite.
