KCros Tour - 2017

Under very snowy and windy conditions 27 starters completed an 8.5 & 3.5 Km course. All efforts were put into trying to have a good classical track with fresh grooves being set moments before the race start, but only so much can be done against the drifting snow. Recent years have been wet with today being a welcome change with snow and not rain coming down. Much thanks to Altitude, The Lodge Smiggins for providing a great place to have lunch at to present the winners and others with prizes. Click here to see the results

The winners of the men’s was Christoph Gasche by a photo finish to Jeremy Hecker with Bentley Walker-Broose only 1.06 mins behind. In the women’s Wendy Hughes was the winner with Marg Hayes and Lauren Simpson coming 2nd & 3rd.  In the Junior women’s Amelia King won this event. Great to see so many woman doing the short course.

Much thanks to Rhythm Snowsports, Mountain Adventure Centre and Wilderness Sports for donating some nice prizes to give to the winners and to go into the lucky draw.

The other event that was held at the Perisher XC Centre was the Fast & Female, this events was well attended.
