Heaps of fun at Charlotte Pass!


The 2017 NSWXC Charlotte Pass Camp was a huge success! It was our biggest camp ever, with lots of new kids joining us for the fun and our coaches Adrian, Carla, Australian Team member Phil Bellingham and multiple French National Champion Iris Pesseytte. The group experienced some beautiful backcountry skiing with the help and knowledge of our guide Arnold.

64th Perisher Cup - 16th of September


It is on again, the longest running skiing event in the Australian Calendar. XC Ski Week Wrap UP


A great week (plus) was had by all that made it. Some character building weather at the beginning and the end, with some of the best skiing for years, in between. What is typically trying weather for the KAC Classic was picture book with only a light breeze. All events were held and well attended with a stand-out being the KCros Tour and the Snowy Mountains Classic. I say stand - out as the trying weather did not deter good numbers from being a part of it.

KCros Tour - XC Ski Week off & racing


Under very snowy and windy conditions 27 starters completed an 8.5 & 3.5 Km course. All efforts were put into trying to have a good classical track with fresh grooves being set moments before the race start, but only so much can be done against the drifting snow. Recent years have been wet with today being a welcome change with snow and not rain coming down. Much thanks to Altitude, The Lodge Smiggins for providing a great place to have lunch at to present the winners and others with prizes.

Midwinter Newsletter - 26 July 2017


It seems more like the beginning of winter – the snow has arrived and the Perisher tracks are now in good shape. The MAC Cam is recording the snow as it accumulates. A number of events have been held, including Australian Sprint and Distance Championships on the weekend just past.

Remembering Carl Melvey


Dedication of the Carl Melvey Room at Boonoona Lodge (City Tattersals Club), 5pm, Sunday 6 August 2017

On the 2017 Boonoona Open race day, immediately before the presentations, the main lounge at City Tattersals Club's Boonoona Lodge will be dedicated as the "Carl Melvey Room" in recognition of Carl's immense contribution to Boonoona (and to City Tatts itself) on making Boonoona into the well-known, strong competing lodge it is today.

Paddy Pallin Juniors - 2017


It will take a lot more than a lack of snow to stop the Paddy Pallin Juniors from being held. Thanks to the persistence of the organisers ( Snowy Mountain Nordic) and finally enough snow, the event was held in the following weekend to when it was supposed to be. Read on:-

Sadly, one of the Southern Alps legends, Rex Cox, passed away on Sunday aged 98.
Rex was a remarkable man who had an incredible love of people, the mountains, skiing & bush walking.
