TYPICAL WEATHER AND SNOW CONDITIONS

XC Ski Week usually has the best snow conditions of the year.  In snow statistics sourced from the Snowy Mountains from the last 40 years, there is a 60% chance that there will be 100 to 150cm of snow on the ground in the first week of August. This usually means that all cross-country trails will be groomed. The days at this time of year are starting to get longer and the temperature range is starting to rise from the chilliness of July with the mean maximum temperature being 3.5C and the mean minimum being minus 4.3C. The percentage of fine days is 70%

As you are skiing at attitude and in exposed areas, the weather can be quite variable with respect to temperature, wind and precipitation and hence when skiing you need to be well prepared to cope with all conditions.
